Since ceramic crowns are made out of thinner material, compared to other types of crowns, ceramic crowns are much lighter. Also, their biggest cosmetic advantages are that they look just like your other teeth. They will look just as lustrous and beautiful as your natural teeth.
So, if you grind your teeth, need to repair a broken or damaged tooth, or had a root canal, a ceramic crown is a solution for you.
Your tooth will be reshaped and tapered down so that the ceramic crown will fit snugly over the tooth. An impression will be taken, and the mold will be sent to a dental lab.
In the meantime, you’ll be fitted with a temporary crown until your permanent one is ready. Once your ceramic crown is ready, it will be placed over the natural tooth. Since crowns are very sturdy, they will last a long time. Once installed, they will look and feel exactly like your other teeth.
